I <3 MOM

My mother Manjeet Dave is one of the most beautiful people I've ever met.
She has the greatest adjusting power. She understands me more than anybody in the world.
She has the ability to smile even when the sky is falling down.Maybe that's what makes her so special.I have never seen her sad in her days of trouble. She is as charming as she was in her new haircut. Some people are blessed with a strong heart that can bear anything & everything.
My mother has always supported me emotionally.I knew I could pour my heart out to her & she would offer a solution to my problem. She adjusted very well in a family which was quite different than hers'.She is a true idol for me.

She has been working as a Professor at a government college from the past 25 years. She struck a great balance between her personal & professional life. She used to cook some awesome dinner for me.I've realized this more after having the food offered to us at our VIT mess though. She always served me with a smile. Here people dump food on my plate with expressions that can't amuse me.
My mother is my best friend. She knows who I like, dislike, talk to.She knows when I am not well. She is a secret box for me.Everything I can't tell dad can be definitely shared with mom.She has gained my trust that way.I love shopping with Mom.Yes.. she loves shopping for bedspreads & cutlery more than for shoes but still she's a great company. She has been my best friend & she'll always be.I hope God will grant her all her wishes.I hope she stays this awesome forever!I love you Mom!& I miss you!
I'll be home soon :)

Change

Change is life.Life is change.Whatever you say it remains the same.
Changes are challenging but are worth it.
Just like you can't wear the same pair of trousers everyday similarly you cannot live in the same city for your lifetime.I am going to vellore for my further studies & just like any other human being I am pretty nervous about it.
I'm getting a chance to start afresh.I have a chance to mold my personality, meet different people & experience a whole new world.
But something is definitely troubling me.It's tough to leave your family behind. It's tougher when you have this attachment with every single person you've ever met.
Change is life but sometimes that's what makes it painful.

Jannat-e-Kashmir:It's Safe!

Hey guys!
I am back from my trip to Kashmir & I feel that this has been one of the best destinations I've visited in my life!So here I am writing a guide to Kashmir!
It was a seven days tour & I covered 4 places:
  • Pahalgam
  • Gulmarg
  • Sonmarg
  • Srinagar

The people of Kashmir are as sweet as sugar & are very hospitable. When I was planning my trip to Kashmir, many people warned me not to visit the place as the situations can change anytime, but the people of Kashmir really changed my opinion. We all have very different impressions of Kashmir & I feel that the time has come when we need to change our views about it.Everybody welcomed us with beautiful smiles & tried to show us the real Kashmir.I feel that the common people of Kashmir have more beautiful hearts than the place.
Kashmir can really be as beautiful as heaven if you just keep the following things in mind:
  • Book a vehicle from a reputed travel agency because it's best to be with people who can be trusted.
I hired a car from "Shangloo Travels" & the driver of the car was a very helpful person.
He knew the place very well & he familiarized us with their culture.
  • Always obey your guide/driver & do not try to be adventurous.I came across a situation where a fight broke out about 50m in front of my vehicle.Within no time the people started gathering & a huge mob came out of no where. But our driver told us to just close our windows & stay inside the car.It took about 15 minutes for the local police to resolve the issue & clear the traffic.
  • The kashmiri's are very hospitable & WILL NEVER try to HARM tourists.Once during the time of the amarnath land dispute, the extremists tried to harm some tourists, but the local kashimiri's took them to their own homes & fed them & safely escorted them to the airport. In the past five years not even a single tourist has been harmed!
Also, the Kashmir economy is primarily dependent on tourism sector..So the locals will never ever try to harm tourists as it hurts their pockets and their stomachs!
  • To be on the safer side read the local newspaper everyday.I really liked to read "The Greater Kashmir"It covers all the important news & keeps you updated about all the recent issues.
  • Please don't feel awkward when the kashmiri's say that "A lot of 'Indians' will visit Kashmir in this season".
They do not look like Indians(exceptions r always there!),speak like Indians & so like to be called kashmiri's & not Indians!
I've also seen people say certain things like"Hamara bharat kitna sundar hai!".But we need to understand that it is still a disputed land & many people like Kashmir to be known as "Their Kashmir" or "Azad Kashmir".
We should all respect them for what they feel & what they are!

Positive + Positive = Positive

Haven't you heard the saying that 'All's well that ends well'.Sometimes I feel that even the opposite is true.
If you start your day on a good note it definitely ends well.
So I woke up this morning with a beautiful song & it has really given me a lot of hopes for the day.
There are plenty of things all over the internet which can make you feel a little more positive, enthusiastic & alive.
I would love to list my favorites for you:)
  • The team of the book "The Secret" came out with some really good videos which are well created.
My favorite one is "the secret to you".It really helps me to feel the real me.

  • My next favourite is the new coca cola advertisement. It really makes my day:

  •  There's a song which is very close to my heart as I listen to it on all my Birthdays :)

That's all for now!I'll be back soon & hopefully will spread more positivity around!
Have a nice day & happy reading! :D

The Fickle-minded Mob

Some years ago I read an abridged version of the Julius Caesar, which is a popular tragedy by Shakespeare.
The Shakespeare had made it a point to emphasize on the characteristics of the mob.The role of the mob was the most influential.Whoever controlled the mob had the control of the whole country of Rome.
Moreover, the mob of Rome was fickle-minded,they were as easily influenced by Brutus as they were by Mark Antony.
The mob is a weapon of mass destruction. It is still used by many so as to fuel the revolutions of this decade. For me,2011 was truly the year of revolutions. The middle east was the epicenter of the big fire of revolutions. But the fire spread on all sides. But who controlled the fire?Who fueled the fire? The one who controlled the fire were the leaders who controlled the mob.
In India, the Great Anna's anti-corruption movement was the in thing during 2011.
Thousands stood in support of the elderly leader. The ramlila maidan at the capital had a new story to tell.
The ramlila maidan housed a powerful mob.The mob was unwilling to move unless the Lokpal was passed. But after the Ramlila maidan chapter the mob disappeared.
Last year, the Lokpal was every person's favorite topic to comment on.But today things have drastically changed. The thing I don't understand is that why do people forget things with time?Corruption was bothering them then & it's even bothering them now.Their leader Anna Hazare is very much alive, though he has been the center of many controversies.
But the point is that the mob is fickle-minded.The enthusiasm of the mob lasts for a very short period. It sometimes does not matter that what ignited the fire. The fire calms down on it's own after sometime. What is important is to use a better fuel.
Mark Antony played the part of a good fuel in Julius Caesar.India is in great need of it's Mark Antony.India needs a young brave heart to control it's fickle-minded mob.The problem with our nation is that we forget things with time.We forget the attacks on our country,we forget the movements & sometimes we even forget what the freedom fighters did for our country.
We all need to sharpen our memories & fight for a better tomorrow.
Wish you all a happy Republic Day.
Truth alone Triumphs.
